When: October 2007
A small hotel across the street from the beach in Pescara.
The room was small and clean. However, the bathroom had a odor I couldn't get rid of or identify. Walls are very thin and the rooms in the front have a lot of road noise. Breakfast is all prepackaged, cornetto, plum cake, melba toast.
Onsite parking wasn't offered, although the website seems to indicate that there is some. Parking on the street was free, although in summer I think it would be impossible to find a spot.
Some staff speak English, but they are not always available. Most of the guests are Italians on business in Pescara. Antonio who works in the morning is quite nice once he warms up to you.
There are a lot of restaurants on the beach. Since I was there in the off season not all were open, but the one I tried for lunch was excellent. There is a good bar about 5 blocks away and great pizza by the slice 3 blocks away. You could walk to centro in about 15 minutes.
I paid 50 euros a night for a single.

Clean, efficient, convenient 3* on Lungomare
This is a small hotel on the beach near the river in Pescara. It is located near il centro in the Castellammare section of the city (north shore). The staff is helpful and friendly. There is at least one English speaker, but not available all the time.
The restaurant serves prima colazione in the traditional Italian style: cornetti, toast and cakes and caffe`. There is a restaurant there but in the off-season you had to advise them that you were going to eat there. I did not eat pranzo or cena, since the hotel is near seaside restaurants and other pizzerie and trattorie in il centro. The single room was clean and comfortable but small. The bathroom was very small and a negative overall. There is cable tv. The single rooms go for €42-65 depending on the season and doubles for €62-87. (2004 prices) There is an elevator.
The Lungomare has a lot of traffic and is subject to some noise late at night. Parking can be difficult. I do not know if the hotel has a parking lot (their ad claims to have parking) since I did not use one nor was I directed to one. I always found a street space but I can imagine in the summer that may be difficult. Overall I think it is a good value for the price IF you can put up with the size of the bathroom.
