Very lovely hotel at the bottom of the Spoleto hill. {4 stars}

This 4 star hotel was quite charming. The average sized rooms had soft linens and large marble bathrooms. Our rooms had jacuzzi tubs as well. The common areas house antiques, canaries, tourist information, comfy couches and chairs, and a small bar (which we never saw anyone man or use).

The hotel is located at the very bottom of the Spoleto hill. We are used to hilltown touring so this wasn't a problem for us. However, it is a steep 15-20min walk up to the Rocca and duomo. Breakfast was delicious but almost entirely composed of cakes (there is yogurt, too).

During our stay the air conditioning broke for one full day and there was no hot water the next day. The staff was quick to apologize and fix the problem, but it is somewhat unusual in a 4 star. In all, I would stay here again if I visited Spoleto. The San Luca was certainly not our best hotel experience, but also far from the worst ever encountered.
