Excellent hotel in Piazza Armerina, completely renovated in 2005, just recently reopened. {3 stars}

We stayed in this hotel only 1 night in May. 3 star hotel, but there isn't much choice in Piazza Armerina.

It has been completely renovated with all the modern conveniences. The room was very clean, very quiet for sleeping, a decent breakfast was included in the price, and we had free use of the computer in the lobby with high speed internet connection.

The web site lists the price as 100 euros for 2 people, but we were only charged 70 including breakfast. Don't bother to try using the web site to reserve a room; I don't think they look at their email. I called them from Siracusa a couple days in advance and reserved a very nice room. The staff doesn't speak very much English, but they sure tried hard, the desk clerk even going so far as to call someone she knew who spoke some English.

If you are traveling by public transport as we were, it is one block from the Piazza Sen Marescalchi where all the buses stop. The bus to the Villa Romana also stops at this piazza and also makes a stop at the hotel (although we did not know this at the time).

The hotel also has a restaurant which looked quite elegant. Since we walked up into the old town and ate dinner there, I can't really comment on the quality of the restaurant. I highly recommend this hotel.
