Excellent hotel in wonderful location with friendly service and spotlessly clean rooms. {4 stars}

We spent only one night in Milan, but loved our time there so much, we wished we could have stayed longer. The Hotel Spadari was ideal for us--within walking distance to all major sights and to many restaurants and cafes.

Our room was very nice--beautifully decorated and very clean. The bathroom was modern, and the shower was large with good water pressure. The room was rather small, but no smaller than most European hotels. It had a small balcony with a view of the city, and the hotel will serve breakfast to you there is you choose. The room is air conditioned, but we did not use the A/C during our stay.

The breakfast buffet, included in the price of the room, was wonderful--a large buffet of breads, pastries, cheeses, cold meats, cereals, yogurt and fruit. The room also included a free mini-bar, which we appreciated for the bottled water, and we received a small fruit basket and some chocolate with our turn-down service.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful, and all spoke excellent English. We had a problem with a tour that we had booked, and the staff helped us to resolve the problem easily (we had tried to resolve it on our own without success, so we were especially grateful for their help).

We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Very comfortable and lovely hotel with excellent staff right in the centre of Milan. {4 stars}

We stayed for six nights in the Hotel Spadari - our first visit to Milan. This hotel came highly recommended - and it deserved every accolade! It is located right in the centre of Milan, right next door to the legendary grocery store 'Peck', very close to the Duomo, very central for transport with the Duomo metro station and lots of the tram routes close by.

We booked a 'King size bedded room with special shower.' The room was exceptionally comfortable and quite large - with a massive bed (much bigger than a standard king), sofa, small desk and wardrobe. There was a mid-sized television with the full range of channels (both Italian and international) and free wi-fi throughout the hotel.

My only criticism of the room is that there weren't any drawers for clothes - just hanging space.

The bathroom was lovely with a large and well-lit vanity area, and a massive double shower which had 3 different types of sprays: 2 overhead rainfall type, a waterfall spout and a standard hand-held unit.

Everything in the room was of excellent quality, spotless and beautifully presented.

You could choose to have breakfast served in your room or in the dining room. There was a lovely selection of brioche and rolls as well as cereal, yoghurt, cheeses, etc. You could also have eggs (boiled, fried, scrambled or an omelet), fresh juice, etc. Again, it was all beautifully presented and great quality.

We found the staff to be very, very helpful and pleasant. We phoned them a week or so before we arrived and they arranged tickets for us to the Last Supper (you do need to book a few weeks ahead even in the quiet season), provided maps and directions and always had a smile and greeting every time you walked past.

The rate of 118 euros (low-season rate) included all non-alcoholic drinks in the mini bar (juice, soft drinks and mineral waters which were replenished daily) as well as breakfast. I thought that it was excellent value.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would most certainly recommend this hotel.
