When: October 2007

Delightful boutique hotel conveniently located between the Castle Sforzesca and La Scala/Duomo. {3 stars}

We spent three nights in two rooms in October, 2007. This hotel was the clear standout of the trip. It was filled with many charming touches, but the highlight was the whirlpool bath in every room (shower stall with jets in the single).

The rooms were completely equipped - hair dryers, TV (although we never managed to find CNN), windows that open (no screens) and climate control.

The breakfast room opens at 7 and provides juice, cereal, yogurt, meats and cheese, croissants, and a coffee machine that makes every possible variation of Italian and American style coffee. There is also a 24-hour bar.

The staff is exceptionally gracious and friendly. It is an easy walk to everything in the historic center and to public transportation. The train station and airports will require a taxi.

The rate for the double room was E175 a night.

The Hotel Star and the Duke of York will be our first choice hotels for our next visit to Milan.

When: March 2007

A wonderful and welcoming little hotel with great staff and comfortable quiet rooms! A short walk from the Duomo or anything Fashion! {3 stars}

The front desk staff and cleaning staff of this hotel were awesome. We had a great chat every morning. Everyone speaks very good English. They were able to split our bill and charge my card in dollars instead of euros to save the conversion fees. It seemed like no matter when we left the room they would straighten it for us ... I wish I could take them home with me!!

The breakfast was standard fare and sorely missed when we got back home. The room was very clean and very quiet at night. It was a very comfortable place to make our home base for our stay in Milan. I loved the city and this great hotel helped in the overall experience. I DEFINITELY recommend it to anyone and would stay there again!
