Good Hotel with unusual decor and helpful staff. {3 stars}

The hotel we had booked had closed its doors a month before we arrived. We had not been notified. It was quite a shock. Heading back to the train station, we stopped at a hotel (can't remember name) to inquire about rooms. They called around to nearby hotels and Hotel Universo had the 3 rooms we needed.

The staff was very helpful. Modern decor. Our room had 3 Lime or neon green walls and 1 blue wall. English language channels on TV. Adequate breakfast although the coffee machine cappuccino wasn't very good. Computer available to guests but at a price: 1-2 euro per 12 minutes if I remember right. 1 room, 2 nights, 2 persons, E162 total.

Our room on the top floor had a balcony over looking Piazza Santa Maria Novella, beautiful view.
