Lovely hotel, but just not comfortable. Beds very hard; A/C ineffective; Noisy!

This may not sound like a negative recommendation, but it is. The hotel has 2 parts, one from the 18th century and the other from the 15th. They have renovated it all and it is beautiful! The common rooms, garden and views are absolutely beautiful! The staff was very plesant and went out ouf their way to be helpful.

You choose your room when you make the reservation. We chose 2 rooms on the second floor of the 18th century side. They were beautiful with tall arched ceilings. Each room is named after an angel. The beds had huge drapes hanging from the walls to frame the bed.

The mattress might have been original; it had zero give when pressed. Sleeping was a challenge, you had to roll when your arm became numb.

The hotel is right on the street in a very small town of Bevagna. The windows look over the street. The noise was sufficient to close the windows. The a/c was on, but had zero impact on the room. Even after we asked them to check it, both rooms still were warm. Noise from the street quieted down about 11:30pm. It started really early in the morning, about 6:30!! Also about that time the hotel was really noisy! Sound carried throughout the hotel at an amazing level!

The first morning it sounded like furniture being pushed about in the room above us! Then there was the banging of who knows what. Sleeeping beyond 7:00 was impossible. I complained at the desk (that was very out of character for me). The second morning the banging was even worse. We were told that the water had problems, it wasn't their fault. Again, sleep beyond 7:00 was impossible, even from my husband who can sleep through anything!

The price was expensive compared to the other hotels we had been staying at, €200 per night for a double. Bevagna was nice, but perhaps too small. We will not be returning to either the town or hotel in the future.
