Our 3rd Stay at Hotel Marcella!

Our stay at the Marcella Royal Hotel in Rome consisted of 2 days prior to going to Sorrento for a week and 3 days on our way home to the U.S.

Our first experience with the Marcella, in the financial district, some years back was great.

We returned to Rome in the fall of 2006 to find that the hotel had been renovated! Our stay in 2006 was really terrific!

Planning our 2007 trip found us craving a return to Rome and another stay at the Marcella.

Rates were basically the same as in 2006 ... however, as most are aware, the US dollar does not fare well against the euro these days!

The hotel staff ... wonderful, in all respects!!!!

The rooms (we were upgraded at no additional cost!) to suites, both on the front end of our journey and on the way home. The suites were extremely well appointed and very comfortable.

Breakfast on the 7th Floor roof garden was a daily treat! A well tended buffet to satisfy most tastes.

Late afternoon cocktails on the roof garden favored us with fantastic sunset views over the city and only added to our most enjoyable stay at the Marcella.

It will be difficult for us not to return again to Rome and the Marcella!!

Small (65 Rooms), recently refurbished, friendly/knowledgable staff, good location. {4 stars}

We enjoyed staying at the Marcella about 7 years ago and found it even more comfortable and appealing now that it has been refurbished. We did miss the quaint bar that was part of the lobby, however, the space expanded the lobby very nicely.

English speaking staff was helpful in every way, from bus/metro tickets, directions and arranging transport to/from FCO, etc.

The 7th floor roof garden featured a terrific breakfast buffet and was a great pre-dinner, sunset cocktail environment.

Should we return to Rome, Marcella Royal would be our choice ... in a heartbeat! Rates: €220 per night. High, but worth the quality of the property.
