Beautiful, historic palazzo located right next to Parma's Bapistry and Duomo.

This beautiful palazzo was renovated 2 years ago and now offers 7 suites for short or long term stays. The suites are on the 3rd floor and some family members still reside on the second floor.

We loved staying here for our last 2 nights in Italy before heading to Malpensa airport (about a 2 hour drive). It was so cool to stay in such a beautiful and historic building (it has been in the family since the 15th century) that looks out onto Parma's amazing Bapistry and Duomo. Needless to say, this fabulous location was within walking distance to all of Parma's important sights.

We stayed in the Fiordiligi suite, #4. The suite was huge by European standards and included a kitchenette with enough utensils to make simple meals and coffee, a small refigerator, an eating area, a TV, internet connections and a beautiful bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was of course very modern and had a terrific shower.

Vittorio, a Pratti family member who manages the suites, is extremely kind and helpful with restaurant recommendations and suggestions for anything else you might need. His English is quite good and emails were prompt and professional. This is not a B&B and does not offer breakast but there are two good cafes very nearby.

The Palazzo Dalla Rosa Pratti is also not a full service hotel and therefore the office is not open 24 hours, so you need to let them know of your arrival and departure times. Because it is located in a pedestrian zone, you may drop off your bags but parking accommodations are a few blocks away at another hotel that Vittorio reserves for his guests for a reasonable fee.

The rooms range from E160 to E220/night and I think is a good value for the uniqueness of the palazzo and its location. On our second night we were able to hear our neighbor's TV and early morning departure, so it may be worth asking if another room has better sound proofing if you are a light sleeper.

I loved Parma and this very special treat of staying in this beautiful palazzo overlooking the Duomo was a perfect way to end our trip. I'd love to go back and stay there again!
