Two special inns in 15th century Venetian palazzi offering hospitality in an elegant Venetian home setting.

To stay at Palazzo Guardi or at C Centopietre, both dating back to the 15th century, is to experience hospitality in an authentic Venetian home. These two residential palaces have been lovingly restored and offer comfortable accommodations in rooms decorated in traditional Venetian style. The owners of these inns work in collaboration and offer accommodations in one or the other house, based on availability.

My husband and I stayed in C Centopietre, tucked away in a quiet little back street in the Dorsoduro area.

Breakfast is served in a beautiful room with painted wooden ceiling and original floors (just like the floors of the Doges Palace!). Lucio, Andrea, and Carlo, the owner/managers were warm hosts and made sure we didnt miss some of the lesser known places in the Accademia area, like the shipyards where the gondolas are still made and repaired, or the decades-old cicheteria were locals have enjoyed a glass a wine with traditional Venetian cicheti for generations.

All in all, the owners of both Palazzo Guardi and C Centopietre made our stay very special. We felt at home in a delightful neighborhood and if we are lucky, well get to stay here again. Centro Pietre website
