Great location for a very reasonable price in Rome.

The Palio Bianco Spanish Steps faces the Piazza di Spagna and the rooms look out over the Spanish Steps. There are sister properties, so do not confuse them with this one. The location is excellent for the price. Our double room in August was 160 euros per night, including taxes.

Check in time was 12:00 which we liked since we did not have to wait until 2:00pm, as we had to do with other hotels on this trip. We arrived on a Sunday, and needed to ring the doorbell to be let in. There is a receptionist at the desk from about 7:00am to about 11:00pm. We took the tiny elevator up to the fourth floor of the building and received a very warm welcome. Our room was very small, but had everything we needed. The large window opened up with a view of the Keats/Shelley Museum and the Spanish Steps.

No - it was not noisy, even at night. But again this was in August and we slept with the window closed and the air conditioning on. The room had a comfortable double bed, a bench, a small breakfast table and 2 stools, a tv without English channels, a reasonable bathroom with tub, shower, toilet, sink, bidet and very thin towels. We also had plenty of closet space and a wonderful mini refrigerator. We took their bottles out and put ours in for the duration of our stay.

There were magazines, opera notices, trolley tour brocheres in the hallway for guests to use. The receptionist arranged the trolley tour for us. Breakfast was included and we were not impressed as it got much better as our trip continued. There was yogurt, packaged cornettos, hard rolls, watermelon juice, coffee, jam and cheese.

The hotel is listed as a 4 star in some places. I would rate it 3 star for location purposes only. I would stay there again if 160 euros a night is the price.
