Small, very old hotel possessing much character.

The Pensione Guerrato had a great location, steps from the Rialto Bridge and the Market Place.

The staff was friendly, helpful and gave wonderful directions for the first time traveler. It was an enjoyable experience; quite different from the other land-locked locations.

We would stay here again, not just because it was very nice but one of the owners (Roberto) will make any woman melt!

I am a happily married woman and so is my sister but we were both dumb struck by the handsome Roberto and his charm. This hotel is located near the Rialto bridge with a view of the fish market. We were just steps away from the bridge, too. Howard Fitzpatrick, our tour guide, said this was considered a tacky area even 600 years ago. For $107 a night (cash price) we'll pick tacky anytime.

The room was great! The bathroom was nice sized and brand new. Our room on the first floor was furnished with antiques and several large squares of the walls and ceilings were left unplastered to show the remnants of the old frescoes underneath. There was a murano glass chandelier too. We were on the first floor. The rooms on the second floor looked even nicer.

Breakfast was a nice croissant style roll plus a selection of other rolls and biscuits. We were leaving extra early on our last day and Roberto made sure our breakfast was available early. We would stay here again in a heartbeat and not just because of Roberto!
