Totally charming, wonderfully friendly, well located for exploring Tuscany/Umbria, and a good value to boot. {4 star}

About 20 minutes from Cortona in a beautiful country setting; roses everywhere; charmingly decorated, impeccably clean rooms furnished with antiques; big, beautiful pool.

Wonderfully friendly, helpful staff (can't say enough about them -- they are kind, knowledgeable and bend over backwards for the guests); location on Tuscany/Umbria border perfect for exploring both areas.

Fabulous breakfasts: huge array of gourmet pastries, fruit, sandwiches, salami, cheese, juice, delicious capuccino. Beautiful "Orangerie" lounge in a giant, glassed-in gazebo, filled with posh furniture, interesting books and magazines, candles, art -- heavenly place to relax with a glass of wine at the end of the day.

Plus an excellent value -- we paid under €360 for a suite with two double bedrooms and a sitting room (there were 3 of us -- me, my husband and our teenage daughter).

Only qualification is that the showers are small -- but everything else was perfect.
