A 4 Star hotel in a small town for a very affordable price. A great base to from which to visit the hills north of Roma.

We were originally booked here for 5 nights but called and were able to come in 2 days early. It was the best decision we ever made!!

You drive in through the carriage doors and through the archway to the courtyard which features a car park (free) and a wonderful fountain surrounded by tables on cobblestones; in essence, the hotel's private piazza.

The lobby was beautiful and the hotel is built from an old palazzo and has 2 floors with a lift. The staff helped us with our luggage to the room and we were pleasantly surprised at the size of the room. We were lucky and got a corner room on the second floor overlooking the courtyard. The room had a very comfortable bed, mini bar, satellite TV and a large wardrobe to hang and put clothes. There was turn down service on the weekends when they are busy.

The bathroom was huge with a loooong tub and hand held shower head. One downfall here ... no shower curtain so showers are a little messy with the water. You are left soap, shampoo, and all sorts of amenities daily.

The breakfast room downstairs is pleasant with an excellent selection and some great cappuccino ... fresh brioche, croissants, pastries plus cereal, fruit, yogurt, meats and even scrambled eggs. Juices, water and the like are also available. You can also opt to eat on the patio if you like.

The hotel also has a bar (which we used as the town's piazza did not have a good place to have a glass of wine before dinner) and reasonable too! They do have a computer for internet work near the bar.

The best part was their staff who cannot do enough for you to make your stay more comfortable and go out of their way to help.

All of this was E130 a night!!!

We made one error ... we did not eat at the hotel's ristorante La Scuderia until the last night there and we missed a gem all week ... great food, great atmosphere - the ristorante is the old stable and the areas are cordoned off like the stalls to eat, so you have privacy for 2. Wonderful design and outstanding food!!! Another review for that one.

This is a must .... FYI ... they are part of a chain of hotels (this is the only Italian one) and the rest are in France.
