La Saracina is a place you dream about in Tuscany--a state of mind! Total relaxation in a unique setting on top of a hill. We saved the best for the last!

Relais La Saracina lies ten minutes between the towns of Pienza and Montepulciano. This area is by far the most scenic and beautiful of all the places we have seen during our two weeks in Italy. The location is perfect for visiting the hill towns of Montalcino, Cortona, Montepulciano, and Pienza.

La Saracina contains only six rooms but what a place! We reserved the smallest of these and were very pleased. It was rustic and charming--an intimate refuge for guests who seek tranquility and peace of mind. You arrive by driving through a dramatic cypress lined road. Our room was tastefully decorated. The bathroom contained a Jacuzzi and the fluffest towels of any place we've stayed at.

Our breakfast was served in a beautiful room that overlooked the Tuscan hillside. The buffet contained a hearty selection of breakfast meats, fresh Pecorino cheese, sweet breads, muffins, cereals, eggs made to order, and the best cappuccino.

La Saracina is a luxury retreat. It doesn't get any better than this! Highly recommended.
