An inexpensive and comfortable B & B just a 5 minute walk from the city center.

The Residence Carducci is a B&B with just two rooms. It is the home of the Berni family. It's tucked behind an old restaurant storefront on Via Carducci, just on the opposite side of the Adige River from the Piazza delle Erbe and the Arena. The location was very convenient (about a 10 min. walk) for opera at the Arena. We attended the opera two nights that we were there, and the walk home through a shopping area was pleasant.

The accommodation is a very pleasant bedroom with a TV, AC and adequate closet space. There is a nice private bathroom en suite with a toilet, tub, good shower, and vanity. You need to walk through part of the owner's residence (an office area) to reach this bedroom.

I'm not sure, but I believe that the other rented bedroom was just off the dining room. When we arrived we inquired about parking. The owner has a parking permit that allows you to park in some areas, but his daughter insisted that we park in their garage. She actually moved the family's Punto out of the garage so that we could park there.

Breakfast was included and consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, juice, meats, cheese, and bread. Cristina, the oldest of the two young daughters, appeared to be in charge. She was charming and spoke excellent English. The accommodation was in an old building with lots of charm and was very comfortable. Our host, Cristina was great and really made us feel welcome. The location was excellent and the price (80 euros per night) was a great value.

When we return to Verona we will try to stay there again.
