A comfortable 4-star hotel that's a great alternative to staying in the Portofino area or in the Cinque Terre.

We ended up here when the place in the Cinque Terre we had reserved turned out to be a dirty dump, and enjoyed the town and the hotel so much that we stayed 4 nights!

The hotel is on the waterfront and has a beautiful swimming pool on a panoramic terrace overlooking the water. The rooms are sort of upscale motel modern but very comfortable, and some have lovely terraces.

The town of Portovenere is a real undiscovered jewel - a small picturesque village of about 4,000 people with interesting Roman and medieval ruins, and boat service to the Cinque Terre. The hotel also has a very good restaurant.
