On arriving at Villa Oriana we were greeted by the family members: Gisueppe, Maria and son Pasquale, who has lived in downtown Bondi, Sydney, Australia. We got on like a house on fire, as I am a ex-Sydneyite. We were served a freshly squeezed limonata, just what we needed after our 3 hour drive from Roma, and we enjoyed the beautiful views of Sorrento Bay and the coastline of Naples. Villa Oriana is a charming B&B. The beauty of the lemon grove that surrounds the villa and the tranquillity is all one needs. The rooms are comfortable and our room opened up onto our own little garden area; great for a relaxing afernoon read in the sun. Breakfast is a lovely buffet, commencing with freshly squeezed orange juice, tea, coffee, cereal, pancetta(Italian bacon), eggs, bread rolls and the family's own produced jams, fruit, yoghurt and Maria's freshly baked cake. My Family and I felt as we have left a part of our Family behind at Villa Oriana, as all of the warmth that was given to us. They will give you all the information of where to go and directions to great resturants, such as Tonio at La Torre at Massa Lubrense. Ask Giuseppe to show you the view from the rooftop terrazza at Villa Oriana -- absolutely beautiful. Price per person in Summer is €75.00. Villa Oriana is a 5 minutes drive from the centre of Sorrento. You are in a perfect position for day trips to Positano, Amalfi, Ravello, Capri, Naples and Pompeii. Villa Oriana's hosts, Giuseppe, Maria and Pasquale, will see my Family again this summer. As I run a Country House outside of Roma, for us it is a pleasure to meet a family with the same friendly caring warmth that we also like to give to our guests. ... If you ladies are mad for Capri sandals as I am, go down to Corcione Shoe Shop, at Corso Italia 28, Sorrento. Giovanni or his Dad will make to measure these fabulous sandals that are less then half of the price that they ask for on the island of Capri. Great buy. I came away with 4 pairs for this summer.
