Villa Ruscello is a great budget hotel on Lago Maggiore. The setting is beautiful and the English speaking owners are very helpful.{2 stars}

This hotel located on the main road between Bavena and Stresa and overlooking Lago Maggiore is a great value. Owned by the Cardini family, it is managed by the three siblings, Guliana, Gulio and Natalino. All speak excellent English and are happy to recommend restaurants and sightseeing.

Although the rooms and bathrooms are somewhat small, they are clean and comfortable with nice linens. Our room was in the annex building of the Villa in which most rooms have balconies overlooking the Lake and Isola Bella. The grounds of the villa are beautifully landscaped with terraces and seating areas.

The hotel also has a parking area and a private beach. The dining room where breakfast is served is a lovely formal room. Breakfast is coffee, juice and fresh rolls.

The real assets of the Villa Ruscello are the beauty of the location and the friendliness of the three siblings. When we were there in May the price was €70 for a double with breakfast.
