Via Veneto is a bit more upscale and is near the Spanish Steps and the expensive shopping areas. Colosseo Foro Romano is also a good area. The neighborhood "Monti" is here. Trastevere is also a popular neighborhood, a bit away from the main tourist center. Many people stay in the Vaticano neighborhood, close to the Vatican. The outlying neighborhoods, like the Aventino and Villa Borghese are still close to the sights of the historic center, but give you more of a neighborhood feel.
