Tour Guides for Italy - small group tours, private guides
Taking one or two tours during a trip to Italy can enhance your travel
experience - learn about the area from someone who lives there. Arrange tours
ahead of time, when you are planning your trip.
Small group tours are more personalized and fun than those large crowds
you see following someone holding up an umbrella (so everyone can follow the
tour guide). You can even arrange a private tour where you tell the guide
what you want to see and they arrange the day for you.
If you have never traveled to Italy before, but do not want to do an arranged
package tour where you travel with the same group for the whole trip, consider
doing an independent trip, but "supplementing" by arranging several day tours.
If it is your first time in Rome and you are there for four nights, you could
arrange two half day tours and spend the rest of the time exploring yourself
(using your guidebook as your tour guide). If you are having a week in the
Tuscany countryside, spend one day with a guide to see some of the wineries,
historic sites or towns you may not find on your own.
See our list of Classified Listings below for some interesting companies
offering tours in many parts of Italy. Get a tour of a major city (Rome, Florence,
Venice), or of a smaller city (Assisi, Siena, Perugia) or do a countryside
tour (Tuscany, Umbria, Amalfi Coast). Also see our Car Services page - these companies frequently
