Short on decor, but long on food and friendliness. This is a great local place. Reservations needed.

Directions: On your right as you drive up to the town walls, just before the walls.

There is a good restaurant on the main road leading up to the town, just outside the town walls (on your right as you approach the town, just under the town walls and across from the little park where you sit and admire the view). It is a caffe with a restaurant beside it. I don't think it has a name. It is closed Monday. You must make dinner reservations ahead of time so they can prepare.

The night we wanted to eat here we just talked to them in the caffe that afternoon. We told them we were vegetarians, we discussed a few dishes and when we arrived that night our table was waiting with a bottle of water and a bottle of their home-made red wine (excellent) waiting. Then the food began to arrive (no menu, no further discussion of food). Course after course, each one fabulous. They served the best spinach ravioli that I have ever had. Inexpensive.
