Set in an uninspiring modern neighborhood, just off the main road that goes to Magione coming from the highway, Al Coccio is, despite the setting, one of our favorite restaurants in the region. It is one of those places where one is always certain to have a good meal. It is one of those places we tell our friends to go to. The owner, Marco, is totally passionate about his business and always very attentive to the smooth running of the service. Today we had an appetizer of wild-boar cured ham with pears, melt-in-the-mouth marinated beef fillet with parmesan and black truffle shavings and fantastic tagliatelle with white truffle; a delicacy only available in this time of the year. We finished with their famous custard and fruits of the forest, simple, homey and delicious. An appetizer costs €7-8 (€10 with black truffle), pasta is €6-12, a meat course €9-14. We find the quality-price ratio excellent. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
