A third visit to All'Ulivo was as pleasant an evening as the first two. Just to mention this time that we tried the chocolate souffle, molten in the middle. Yum!

We felt this restaurant was over priced. It was an expensive meal but not on a par with other meals in this price category.

This restaurant has very attractive and inviting terrace dining and the staff is accommodating and good. We each ordered a shellfish dinner which was good but nothing special. The insalata caprese was disappointing as the tomatoes were quite inferior - which is not acceptable in a country where produce is so fantastic, nor in a restaurant of the caliber this one tries to be.

Had the dinner not been so expensive, we would probably have recommended it; however, given its significant cost, I definitely would not recommend it. Spend your money elsewhere.

A lovely restaurant in a small piazza of Lucca's centro storico. Excellent cuisine emphasizing seafood. Upscale but moderately priced.

We ate at All'Oliva on a weekday night in October as a group of five, including two Lucca friends, and 3 "foreigners." Four of us arrived at least 45 minutes late thanks to a mix-up, but we were graciously received, and proceeded to enjoy some crostini as antipasto, a primo of mixed shellfish, generously portioned but light and extremely fresh, and a variety of second courses including meat and fish choices, all delicious and well-served. Our Lucca friend chose a local white wine, which was good but not memorable. Our second Lucca friend arrived well into our second course, but a place was set with no fuss, and her order taken and served promptly. The desserts were extrordinarily good, and as customary, we were offered after-dinner drinks "on the house."

Our Lucca friends consider this to be among the very best restaurants in Lucca. My memory is that the price per person from start to finish was about 40 euro/person, but the wine was not expensive, so it could be a bit more with a different wine choice.
