Wonderful outdoor dining and good food, too!

May 20, 2006: Located right on the Giudecca canal near my hotel (Pensione La Calcina), I felt this was the perfect outdoor dining place for lunch upon my arrival in Venice, my favorite Italian city! The views of the Giudecca canal are are great with the terrace trimmed in flowers. I saw a cruise ship enter the area with many passengers looking at Venice (in awe I'm sure!).

Just about all the tables were filled. I had read this place had very good pizza, so I ordered their pizza with eggplant (€8.50). Yes, it was very good and quite filling. I also had 2 glasses of red house wine. As I said, I had just arrived in Venice and wanted a nice lunch to start my 5 days in this beautiful city. Total €17.
