Chef Michele Sorrentino is all over the place, greeting diners, serving food, suggesting wine- I wondered when he had time to cook. But he managed, and managed to cook some really good food! The restaurant offers a la carte, a meal tasting dinner, a fish tasting dinner, and a mixed tasting dinner. I ordered the fish tasting menu and was greeted with a glass of spumante, followed by a small serving of lobster bisque, which was very thick and very intense. Huge amounts of food followed: Gilthead sea bream with porcini; fish ravioli in a broth with tiny clams, carrots, zucchini and tomatoes; angel hair pasta with mussels, cherry tomatoes, and white beans; monkfish in lettuce with vegetables. I had to stop- I couldn't eat any more. Who said portions are smaller in Europe? I recovered in time for dessert: semifreddo di pistacchio con salsa di cioccolato nero (pistachio parfait with black chocolate sauce). Glad I had room for that! There was too much food, but every dish was excellent. Chef Michele Sorrentino is known for the freshest of local ingredients and his dishes are very simple and complex at the same time. The restaurant isn't too expensive. The fish tasting menu was €45. The other tasting menus are a bit cheaper. Good wine selections at a fair price.
