Unimpressive from the outside, the interior is very pleasant. The menu menu is excellent, the wine list huge. All of us enjoyed our meals, highly recommended.

We passed this restaurant on the way up to the Campo dei Miracoli while wandering through the market. We were impressed by the variety on the menu, although the outside tables did not really look inviting. We returned at luchtime, and were able to get a table for the four of us. The staff were very friendly, and put up with my fractured Italian, but also spoke good English.

We shared two platters of mixed starters - salamis, assorted cured meats and cheeses. All were very tasty. We then each had a pasta dish. My wife and I both had pappardelle with wild boar sauce, my father a seafood pasta, and my mother had a dish with Pici, mint , beans and I think beef. All of us enjoyed them immensely.

The wine list was extensive, but as we were hot from walking around, we decided to stick to a couple of beers each, and some bottled water.

Overall I was very impressed, and had we had more time would have liked to sample one of the main courses.

The price came to around €75.

Great spot for lunch, away from the tourist hordes near the piazza.

We happened upon this gem while looking for a light lunch in Pisa. Only a five-minute stroll from the Piazza dei Miracoli, situated in the market street of Domenico Calvaca. A few outside tables--but you have to accept the wafting odors of fish coming from the surrounding fishmongers.

Pasta was simple, homemade, and delicious--some of the best of our trip. I had a pici with a radiccio, walnut, onion and cream sauce and my husband had a chitarra with the lightest pesto and bits of tomato. With two glasses of house wine, and water, the bill was €23. Definitely worthwhile seeking out.
