Nice little Trattoria with good food

Directions: Behind the Uffizi

May 12, 2006: I found this restaurant listed on Chowhound and also found their web site.

I started with their Crostini Toscana (liver pate, which was warm and creamy); veal scaloppini with porcini mushrooms in a gravy/sauce and parsley; fried battered zucchini flowers (yum!). Small bottle of white wine; bread. With my coupon from their Internet web site I received a cute small ceramic plate with the restaurant name on it to hang on the wall n my kitchen. I was also given a small bottle of red wine. This place was evenly mixed with Italians and tourists. Nice interior with block arches, old black and white pictures, and drawings done in pencil. 31 for everything.

When: 2005

Friendly, typically Tuscan restaurant.

This is a marvellous restaurant and we can't recommend it too highly. The food is excellent and typically Tuscan and the welcome is warm and genuine.

We ate here three times in six nights because it was conveniently close to our locanda, the Relais Uffizi, but it is obviously very popular with locals and tourists alike. The third time we were there, there was a queue out the door but luckily it moved quite quickly! That was in late September, so I would suggest that booking a table is probably a good idea. I don't remember exact prices but it was no more expensive than any other restaurant and was around 75 or 80 for two of us, including wine.
