This was some of the best pasta I had on the whole trip. There was a beautiful view and they were very accommodating. Definitely recommended!

There was a beautiful view and they were very understanding to the young children in our group.

The food here was delicious. People in our group got all the different things (the menu was rather limited), and all were delicious. The pasta I had was homemade and very rich and delicious. Also, the dessert was terrific. The entire meal was great, which is the same way others in our group felt about theirs.

If you have enough time while at this resturant, they have a wonderful tour of the old winery- which at one time was a monastery. The tour is worth it, especially the gardens. About four euros each.

The only complaint abut this resturant is that the drive is rather windy and one of the kids in our car got carsick on the way.

I recommend this resturant to anyone; it will be worth the time and money!!

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful!

Directions: Gaiole in Chianti

We arrived here for lunch after making a reservation from Greve and just arrived in time to catch the end of the lunch service. This restuarant sits on a beautiful location overlooking the valley below. Wonderful terrace with a breeze, quite a treat given the heatwave that we were experiencing! I had the goat cheese and zucchini mousse over greens, it was amazing. Next for the main course I ordered gnocchi with fresh tomatoes and ricotta sauce, very delicate, very light, pretty much perfect. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely! I feel I must inform you about Badia a Coltibuono, where we had an absolutely TERRIBLE dinner last year (2000).

Directions: On road from Radda to Montevarchi.

It was so bad that I had to send food back, as it was inedible, and there was nothing else appealing on the menu. I did email the chef, who said he was out that night, etc., but I felt that a restaurant of this reknown should have had better food. I can't recommend that anyone go here. The restaurant itself was lovely, and they did deduct what I sent back from the bill. The menu which they post on the web is nothing like what you find when you get to the restaurant.

When: 1997

Excellent and beautiful restaurant run by the Medici's (who have a cooking school and have several cookbooks) on their large farm (wine, olive oil).

Directions: On road from Radda to Montevarchi.

We had lunch here twice in June 1997. They have a beautiful terrace where you can eat outside in good weather.
