This was a very friendly, very tasty and very affordable first restaurant to go to in Venice.

Directions: From Campo SS Apostoli at the foot of Strada Nova, find Calle dell'Oca to the left of the church.

We enjoyed our first night in at this restaurant. It is one of the few restaurants we could find that opened at 7 P.M. and being jet lagged, this came as a relief!

It had a very friendly staff and people at other tables talked to us and made us feel very welcome. We split everything, having just arrived from the U.S. and being more tired than hungry, but the staff didn't seem to mind and were very gracious.

We started with sarde in saor, then had caprese, a carciofi pizza and then tiramisu. With a 1/4 liter of wine and bottled water, we spent 34 euros for the two of us. We thought this was a very good value, especially in a city as expensive as Venice and enjoyed every bite of it. We would definitely go back.
