Directions: Off of Via Dante Alighieri. Good maccheroni con melanzane. Gnocchi al pesto floating in a sea of oil was potentially stomach-turning, were the gnocchi not so good. We asked for a bistecca alla fiorentina (to split between 2 because sometimes they’re so huge) to be cooked medium. It arrived seared on the outside, blue in the center – yum – raw meat! I sent it back to cook it just a bit so it would be closer to medium – I would have accepted medium-rare. It came back almost well done. Is there nothing between raw and ben cotto? Nevertheless it was tasty. I believe the Tuscans do like their meat on the rare side, but that was a bit ridiculous. Nice tiramisu for dessert. Good wine list. We had a fantastic ’97 Fonterutoli Chianti Classico Riserva. Moderately priced. This review is the opinion of a Slow Travel member and not of slowtrav.com. |
