Da Bruno has been in the same spot for 50 years. Moderately priced, elegantly casual, and soccer friendly although not a sports bar. Reservations necessary

Directions: Duomo area

Within walking distance of our hotel and the Duomo, Da Bruno as been in the same spot for 50 years, frequented mostly by Italians, but there are some English speaking waiters. Professional waitstaff, helpful and attentive service.

There is a generous and appetizing antipasto buffet featuring parma ham, 8 euros per plate, and a wide selection of pasta and fish, and several veal dishes including a popular osso buco with risotto.

We enjoyed 2 insalata mista 4 euros, pennette Bruno with meat sauce and cream, ravioli de la casa with ham, peas, and cheese, and a small carafe of the house white wine - 38 euros for two. The food is excellent, the portions are generous, and the place fills up by 8:00 PM.

There were a number of framed soccer jerseys on the walls and a big-screened TV which is turned on for soccer games, although this is definitely not a sports bar. One of our favorite restaurants.
