We stumbled on this charming place for our last lunch in Turin when a couple of guidebook recommendations did not work out. We were attracted by the fixed price menu posted outside but were only offered the a la carte lunch menu. It really didn't matter as the same choices were available.

We were served a slice of an asparagus frittata as we were seated. We then shared a mixed antipasto.

Jane had a cheese frico served with potato and tomato. This was more cake-like rather than the fried pancake or cup from other regions of Italy. I had a dish of stewed baccala on polenta.

We ended up ordering two half carafes of a local white wine. The second one was different and not as good of the first.

With water our lunch was 47 euros.

The restaurant's three rooms were quiet when we began but rapidly filled with local businessmen. The walls were decorated with huge blowups of the restaurant's staff from earlier in the last century.
