If you would like to sample salami, cheeses, local home made pasta along with wines from the region, this is the place.

We were a party of 14 and prearranged to sample wine from the region along with salami, cheese, a pasta dish, fresh duck and dessert.

The Piazza Onofri has a casual setting, stone walls, wooden tables, and a modern touch of new style presentation of classic Italian food.

We started with a peppery prosciutto, fennel salami, and lard accompanied by fresh bread toasted with rosemary and olive oil. The portions were small but just enough for one person. We continued with homemade ravioli with a light, creamed mushroom sauce. After the salt of the salami, this was a perfect choice.

Our main course was duck breast with grape sauce. The duck was tender and the grape sauce was caramelized on the top with just enough syrup on the side.

For dessert we had a very rich pistachio parfait with chocolate and pineapple sauce. We had local red wines: Az. Ag. Castello delle Regine Amelia, TR, Podernovo 2001 and Fattoria Colsanto, Bevagna, PG, Montefalco Rosso 2003.

The bill was 559 euro.

The staff was young and very proud of their presentation of the food. We wish them well. It was excellent.

We certainly recommend the enoteca for great food and wine.

We stayed in an apartment in Bevagna for a week in late September - early October. The Enoteca Piazza Onofri, a fine ristorante, is located on the ground floor of the building.
