An upmarket place to have cappuccino or eat a light meal in the center of the bustling main square of Sorrento.

We think this is one of the best “glossy” bars in downtown Sorrento. It’s upbeat and beautifully decorated. Like the outdoor cafes in Venice’s San Marco Square, there are quite a number of waiters so service is attentive but never rushed.

The outdoor area is the place to sit and watch the passeggiata. In fact the location is excellent as it’s in the center of the busy main square, Piazza Tasso. Delicious cappuccino or a cup of Twinings tea comes with a plate of cookies or there is a delectable variety of pastries and cakes that can be chosen from inside.

Some days we just went for cappuccino and cookies, other days we ate lunch or an early dinner. For pasta and other light meals like an omelette the bill for two of us was usually €25. A complimentary limoncello after a meal always made my day.

Great people watching bar on Piazza Tasso.

Located in the center of the happening Piazza Tasso in Sorrento, this was a fun people watching location for a pre-dinner drink. We enjoyed the scene that included an entertaining mime. I had a nice glass of prosecco, my husband a 2 glass bottle of rosso, served with very good olives and peanuts for a very reasonable 12E, considering the entertainment factor. They also served full meals that looked quite nice.
