What a wonderful lunch we had on a sweltering day last June at this jewel of a restaurant.

We noticed this restaurant and I remembered the name from reading Divina Cucina's reviews. We stopped in for lunch and had one of the most pleasant dining experiences during our trip to Italy. Gilda's son asked if we wanted an appetizer and of course I said yes. While my daughter and I were reading the menu he brought water, a delicious bread selection and two bowls of Pappa al Pommodoro. Words cannot describe how delicious this soup was.

The menu is handwritten with a great array of both exotic and traditional dishes. I ordered the stuffed chicken (with porcini) roulade which was extremely good and my daughter had sausages and lentils which she raved about and finished the whole thing -- which made Gilda smile.

For dessert we had the peach marzipan cake with our expressos. Fabulous food, wonderful service, a beautiful little restaurant. Go and enjoy for yourselves you won't regret it. The cost came to €24 and we left a €3 tip ... which was most appreciated.
