We had a delicious lunch here after failing to find anywhere else open for lunch after a lovely walk along the cliffs on the Passeggiata Anita Garibaldi. Other places in the Cadogan guide and our GPS were either closed or no longer in existence.

It is an elegant restauarnt in the Hotel Astor but with judicious ordering we managed a reasonably priced meal for two. We each had one antipasto and one of us ordered a pasta primo and the other a secondo.

A plate of sliced pears layered with pecorino cheese cheese with honey was delicious. As was a salad of incredibly tender octupus with potatoes, tomatoes, olives, and pine nuts.

The trofie with pesto was authentically Ligurian and a rabbit stew was rich with saffron and very satisfying.

With a bottle of water and a bottle of rose' from the Gulf of Tigullio (15 euros), our bill came to a total of 66 euros.
