A very good restaurant with many outside tables on the edge of the beautiful piazza in Saturnia.

Have lunch here if you are heading to the coast or exploring the Pitigliano area.

September 1999. We had lunch here - probably the best meal of the trip. Definitely worth the trip to Saturnia (and there are lots of things to do in the area). This is the first restaurant where we found the soup Aquacotta (later we also found it in the restaurant in Lecchi). Restaurants do not usually serve it because it is "peasant" food - something people eat at home frequently. It turned out to be a thick vegetable soup with a poached egg in the middle. Maybe some type of cheese under the eggs. Great. We had a fabulous main course of grilled vegetables and grilled porcini, with potatoes for contorni. There were a variety of vegetarian second courses to choose from and many first courses, so you could make a meal of two first courses. Incredible food. We ended with espresso because we were so full we could barely move. Lunch took over 2 hours. And we got to watch a wedding party.

June 2000: We went back on our June 2000 trip for lunch twice. It was just as good as before. See pictures of our lunch.
