This is the restaurant I eat at when I am in Florence. They serve delicious authentic Florentine cuisine, good wine and desserts at very reasonable prices.

i Toscano is one of those sought after, but rarely found authentic Florentine restaurants that is off main streets filled with tourist restaurants.

I have traveled to Florence six or seven times, the first time I was there I went for a walk, near the apartment where I was staying, to find a place to have a glass of wine before dinner. I walked into i Toscano and was warmly greeted by a young woman, Camilla, who led me to a table. Before I could figure out how to say I only wanted a glass of wine in Italian, I was sitting in a cozy comfortable dining room.

The waiter recommended the meal and the wine for me and they were both delicious. All the food was fresh, the sauces were tasty and the ante pasto contained a wide variety Tuscan specialties. I don't remember the exact prices but it was not expensive.

With the delicious food, the warm ambiance, the gracious owners and the friendly staff I felt so comfortable. i Toscano is my favorite restaurant.
