Excellent casual seafood restaurant with large covered terrace overlooking the Mediterranean towards the island of Giglio, wonderful food with panoramic views.

Directions: Located on the coast just a few kilometers past Porto Santo Stefano on Monte Argentario peninsula off the coast of southern Tuscany.

This is a large terrace restaurant, also a bar and pizzeria. All on one level with fantastic views over the sea. They offer both seafood and meat-based menus, but do stick with the seafood; it’s fresh and delicious.

We had crispy anjovis starter, then had some lasagna but this was just okay and we should have had the spaghetti vongole instead for the 1st course. Back on track we ordered fritto misto for the 2nd course that was very lightly coated and quickly fried tender shrimp and pieces of calamari; absolutely delicious and plentiful. We also added some French fries and mixed salads to the main course.

Vermentino is a Sardegnian white wine, very light, dry and crisp, perfect in the summer when chilled and enjoyed with seafood. The bottle we had was homegrown at Orbitello, from the local vineyards. Excellent wine at low cost.

The whole lunch for 3 people was just €115 including a 10% tip for good service by a couple of young waiters.

There’s some parking in front and some more around the bend just past the restaurant.
