Excellent meal, friendly and efficient service.

We stumbled upon Il Molino fortuitously on our first night in Italy. Jet-lagged and exhaused we really were looking for a "not-so-special" meal, but when I saw the sign I remembered a positive review and said "Let's go for it!" I'm so glad we did - this was one of our most pleasant meals in Umbria.

The restaurant is in an old mill (hence the name) bu we sat ourside on the patio. Service was friendly and efficient, whcih was most welcome in our jet-lagged state.

Our primi were tagliatelle with porcini and a light lasagnette with ricotta and eggplant. Mains were grilled lamb chops for me and a chicken with pesto dish for my husband. Everything was delicious.

But I think dessert was the best, and one of the best we had in Italy - a light semifreddo with fresh peaches. An excellent way to start off the trip!

Another "wow" meal in Umbria!

We stayed at Palazzo Bocci right across the street and Il Molino was fantastic. The room was very nice and the service was excellent. The filetto in a red wine sauce was awesome. €111 for dinner with a bottle of sagrantino.
