Nice spot right on the water in Porto S. Stefano

Directions: On the waterfront just past the marina in Porto S. Stefano

We were looking for a lunch spot on the water and surprisingly this is difficult to find in this seaside town. Most of the restaurants are up in the hills above town, and in the town proper there seem to be mostly bars with tourist menus. Il Palombaro is an exception, set on stilts right above the water. The ambiance was casual and nautical. The food was quite good, if a bit pricey in this tourist-oriented town. We had a fritto misto (calamari, polpe, gamberi) and a spaghetti alla vongole; a half-bottle of Bianco di Pitigliano, and aqua minerale. The bill for two came to €37.
