Heartily recommended. Very good food. Extremely friendly service. Excellent value for money.

Directions: A few km south-east of Forli

We arrived shortly before 1 pm on a Friday in mid-April. The restaurant was very busy (with a party of about 20 filling one end of the room). However, there were still a few tables empty, and new arrivals were still being seated at 1.30. Many of the customers were evidently local and on friendly terms with the staff.

Although the main menu was very tempting we opted for the Menu del Giorno which offered two courses plus water/wine for 15 euros each. Before we started the meal we were presented with slices of local sausage and delicious, warm flat pitta-type bread both of which went very well with the local Sangiovese wine. We couldn't decide which of the two different pasta dishes to order for our first course, and they very kindly brought us very generous "half-size" portions of first one then the other. One was a very tasty tagliatelle with peas, etc, while the other came with mushrooms, onions, bacon, etc and was the best pasta dish we have ever had. For our main course we had an extremely tasty and filling mixed grill with fried potatoes.

Although we were full we were not stuffed because we left some of the meat uneaten. However, We couldn't resist finishing with home-made tiramisu, and were given sweet Sicilian wine to help it down. However, we disappointed our hosts by turning down the offer of a little grappa to go with our excellent coffee.

All this came to 20 euros each (and we left the restaurant clutching the rest of the excellent bottle of wine!)
