Disappointing.

Having recommended this restaurant previously, I guess that it's my duty to relate a negative experience. We saved L'incontro until the last evening of our stay, and it was just short of disaster. One waiter tried to manage the entire place (perhaps fifty seats). The food was forgettable.

I recommend that you try L'incontro, a favorite at the edge of Campo Santa Margherita in Dorsoduro.

Directions: Vaporetto stop: Ca' Rezzonico

It is perhaps the only restaurant in Venice without fish on the menu. The chef is Sardinian and is especially competent with beef (carpaccio, etc.) Nearby is the Gelateria Doge, not to be missed. In fact, if you order a Sgroppino the waiter will go there for the gelati limone.
