We had a very good lunch here and will return next time we are in Pistoia. Clientele is a mix of local people and tourists. It is clearly popular with Pistoiese

La Bottegaia is a busy, hustling place with charm and atmosphere. It almost resembles a French bistro inside but is clearly Italian. I am very anxious to return but it's quite a drive from Greve.

We had an outstanding lunch. My pasta, which was linguine with thin slices of zucchini and small bites of seabass, was one of the best pastas I have had. Casey had a large ravioli stuffed with sausage with a bean sauce. Ken had a rigatoni type pasta with eggplant, cheese and other herbs and spices. They were all excellent.

The menu includes large crostini and bruschette sections and tempting desserts. There wine list has over 300 wines. The house wine was very, very good.

The new oil they had with the bruschette was so outstanding that I had them open their nearby store so that I could buy a bottle. I've been sampling the new oils the last couple of weeks and this was by far the best--for by taste, anyway.

The bill for three people was €48 which included 3 antipasti, 3 primi and a half liter of very good wine.
