La Cantinetta in Barolo; Highly Recommended *** Right in centro Barolo with modern décor. Good wine list. We decided not to have a bottle of wine since we had already been tasting all morning and still had dinner at Felicin that night. We both had salads and Joyce had a tarajin with veal sauce and I had a risotto with funghi. Both were excellent. Before lunch our waiter, who I think was one of the owners, twisted our arms (OK it didn’t take much twisting, one doesn’t want to appear rude!) and gave us a nice glass of Arneis to start. Then I decided to have a just one glass of red with my risotto and when he asked if he should choose the wine I said sure. He brought me a glass of excellent Barolo and when I asked him what it was he told me it was the ’97 Damalino Cannubi Barolo, the wine I recently had found and bought!
