I have a feeling that this is probably the best restaurant in Parma but I've never actually had dinner anywhere else in town since after eating at La Greppia once, we went back every night that we were in Parma. The food is creative and fabulous. The service is incredible. I think that half of the enjoyment is watching the care with which the wine and food is served. (When was the last time you had a salad tossed lovingly tableside?) Of course the prosciutto and the Parmigiano-Reggiano are obligatory. When we were there, the parmigiano was listed on the menu with the date November, 2004. (Far better than October, 2004, we thought. Just kidding.) You should only order prosciutto if you don't mind being disappointed by prosciutto for the rest of your life. I've never tasted anything as good and I doubt I ever will. All the pasta dishes we had were excellent. The faraona (guinea fowl) was excellent. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The dessert cart which is rolled from table to table will remind you save some room. There's a window from the dining room into the kitchen so you can see the chef and her staff at work. The restaurant is small, friendly, and overall, a really great dining experience. We planned a stop in Parma just so we could go back! Reviewed by: wino666 from CA, review #656 When: 2003
Directions: Right in the old town area on Garibaldi. La Greppia in Parma; Highly Recommended *** The best restaurant we went to in Parma. Nice décor and very comfortable. We had wonder salads, a unique pasta that had ribbons of pesto inside and was served in a pine nut sauce and tagliatelle with onions and proscuitto. A ’97 Ratti Nebbiolo d’Alba Ochetti for wine.
