Cortona: La Locanda nel Loggiato

Great lunch.

Directions: Center of town

Very good bruschetta, followed by pasta with pancetta in a tomato cream sauce. I really enjoyed this dish! Reenie had an excellent dish of Spelt with chicory and parmesean cheese sauce (I wish I ordered that dish because it was excellent!) followed by gnocchi. Wine. Equivalent of US$50.

When: 2002

Excellent traditional food, many locals with their families there.

This restaurant was previously called "La Logetta".

Alessandra (owner of Il Girasole and Il Papiro in Cortona) took us to La Locanda nel Loggiato, a new version of a former restaurant in the same location. Three or four rooms, excellent traditional food, many locals with their families there. Lunch with three courses and wine, vin santo and grappa (!) was about $ 25 per person.

Great food. Small and family run.

We have eaten here many times (when it was La Logetta). Located above the main piazza in Cortona. You can sit inside in one of two or three small rooms or outside across a small street on the terrace overlooking the piazza.
