We arrived in Monterchi late in the afternoon on Sunday, May 29th and stopped at La Pieve Vecchia for directions and ended up having an outstanding meal.

We sat at one of the umbrella-shaded tables in the garden of La Pieve Vecchia. The restaurant was full (both inside and out) with groups of families celebrating communions, baptisms and other events. The restaurant had 150 guests that day. The service and the food gave no indication of their being crowded or rushed in any way.

We had several excellent courses that included: tagliatelle fatte in casa al ragu, agnello scottadito, patate arrosto, verdure grigliate, pannacotta caramel, 2 limoncelli, 1 amaro, 1/2 litre aqua, 1/2 litre vino rosso - all for €43.30.
