Nice ambiance and a good selection of wine... A nice intimate place to experience great food at a reasonable price.

Directions: turn right off Via Roma onto via Antica della Corte - look for a place called Doner Kebab on via Roma. It's near that street (there's no car access - local permit only) take the first right and it's around the corner.

A low key place you would likely never come across unless you were lost... if you can find Lo Spuntino - you have found a gem.

I have been living here in Salerno for over a year and have become somewhat fussy with respect to quality AND price - I can recommend this hip intimate space with confidence. The food is consistently good -- the owner(Pietro) has employed the culinary talents of his own mother!

Two of my notable faves are: polenta con formaggio gorgonzola e funghi (mushrooms), and gnocchi con gorgonzola and walnuts. Both great choices if you are a lacto-ovo vegetarian. I have sampled the lasagna vegetariana - and it is also excellent. As Pietro spent 5 years of his younger days in London he speaks excellent English - which is great for me (as I still struggle with my conversational Italian), and other travellers whom I have recommended him to!

He opens around 8:30 - 9pm (and may be closed on slower days of the week in "off-season").
